Palmer was never diagnosed. \u00a0He lived 19 beautiful years, visited with dozens if not hundreds of doctors, nurses, and scientist and underwent multiple genetic testing but he was never diagnosed. \u00a0Some thought he fell on spectrum of Cerebral Palsy, some thought he didn\u2019t. \u00a0And at this point, we may never know what underlying ailment or condition triggered Palmer\u2019s central nervous system to not function typically. \u00a0<\/span>
<\/p>\n

Palmer\u2019s story is not unique. \u00a0Today, there are over 14 million children, just in the US, that are living with a neurological condition. \u00a0And while many of these diseases are now diagnosable, the overwhelming majority do not have a cure. \u00a0This is unacceptable. \u00a0<\/p>\n

The Pediatric Brain Mapping Project<\/a> is the first step towards building a searchable natural history database for doctors and scientists to use to help lead to the discovery of the next generation of treatments and cures for the diseases and disorders these children face. \u00a0<\/p>\n
